Fraudulent Activity can be reported to the Gunnison Valley PD.  They have agreed to be an independent source to take the report and pass it to the correct party.  If you have any concerns contact the GVPD at (435) 528-5532.

Changes to the Landfill

Key points as of April 1st 2024
1 Household.   
     b.  Household fees.  this section lists three methods that household waste is paid for.  
     c.   Large Household items that are still free for citizens who pay the landfill fee.  
     d.   Apartments, motels, schools, churches, or businesses, pay by the ton, and large household items from these sources are not free. 
2.  Construction, Demolition and Renovation waste is paid for by tonnage
3.  Residential Green Waste (landscape maintenance) is still free to citizens, not commercial landscapers
4   Large tree components, stumps trunks and large branches are to large to burn and must be buried and paid for.
5.  Tires  Same as before.  (still can not put in garbage cans or large dumpsters
6.  Metal.  Clarifications 
7.  Large items, motorhomes, travel trailers, campers and boats, clarifications
8.  Animal waste
9.  Minimum Vehicle cost for up to 500 lbs.  of $8.00 is new. 
General information to help citizens
1.  Help citizens understand that the Landfill portion of the garbage costs is $3.60 plus .40 cents administrative costs pays for their weekly household garbage only that is picked up and delivered to the landfill.  It is not billed to the carrier.  
2.  The balance of their garbage bill is the carrier costs for equipment, fuel and labor to pick up and deliver waste to the landfill.  
All other waste from apartments, businesses,contractors,etc is paid for by the tonnage.

Closed Burn Season

June 01, 2024

As of June 1 , There is NO more burning allowed inside the town of Fayette according to the town ordinances.  Sanpete County has also closed their Fire season.  The BLM and Forest Service has tightened their fire restrictions if you are enjoying time inside their jurisdictions, please look up their restrictions we are in the midst of one of the driest years on record please conserve water where you can and use extreme caution with fire.  For a copy of the fire ordinances please visit Fayetteutah.com and look under the other forms tab or it can be found inside our ordinance page.
